| | Classic Account Customer | Arrow Global Just to warn anyone who is dealing with Arrow Global (who seem to be competing with Lowell in buying statute barred/unenforceable debts at the moment )....
The London address they provide (57 - 61 Mortimer Street) seems to be merely a collection address. I have sent two items of recorded post to them in October and the Post Office have told me they remain undelivered as there is nobody at the address to sign for them.
This raises an interesting question. As Arrow seemingly have no staff at this address and one of my letters was a crucial CCA request, what do you do about proof of delivery in the event of Court action?! |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Arrow Global In early 2006, Arrow Global —a division of Arrow Financial Services—was founded in the UK and
Continental Europe. With more than 45 years of experience and 1,100 employees, Arrow Financial
Services is a nationally recognized leader in the U.S. receivables management industry, managing
more than $16 billion in consumer debt. Arrow Financial Services is a subsidiary of SLM Corporation, commonly known as Sallie Mae, a Fortune 500 ranked corporation with a 34-year operating history and over $140 billion in assets. The experience and financial strength of Sallie Mae and Arrow Financial Services serve as a strong foundation for Arrow Global’s growth in the UK and Continental Europe. Based in London, Arrow Global is an active purchaser of credit card receivables, personal loans, overdrafts, retail/trade receivables, auto receivables, mortgage shortfalls and distressed mortgages.
The company has already purchased approximately £500,000,000 in consumer receivables, managing 200,000 customer accounts from 12 creditors, including banks, consumer finance companies and
retailers in the UK and Continental Europe.
A talented local management team, along with the experience of Arrow Financial Services and financial strength of Sallie Mae, make Arrow Global well qualified to participate in the UK and European debt
purchase markets. Headed by Zachary Lewy, Arrow Global has recruited portfolio managers and servicing specialists
from GE, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Vodafone, and Abbey National. Lewy is the former Group Corporate Development Director at Vertex where he acquired and managed the company’s debt collection agency, First Revenue Assurance.
“Arrow Global has the experience needed to value and manage a range of asset classes,” said Lewy.
“With the capabilities and low cost of funds that we receive from our parent companies, Arrow Global
can provide our clients with excellent service and strong pricing.”
Arrow Global also benefits from the international finance experience of its Chairman, Jack Lavin, who
also serves as the CEO of Arrow Financial Services. Prior to joining Arrow, Lavin previously led capital
market activities in London and New York for Citibank, Bankers Trust, and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Lavin stated, “We have a long-term view of the UK market. Arrow Financial Services was founded in
1961 and is still a market leader in consumer receivables management. We understand that it takes
time to build a strong franchise in the UK and Europe and we look forward to creating long-term
relationships with our clients.”
Arrow is a member of the CSA and the DBSG. For further information on Arrow Global, please contact

So MBNA and Sallie Mae are both Bank of America companies.

You don't see the Court issuing claims via Recorded/Special Delivery and having to prove they were sent, so why should a litigant?
In fact, send the CCA request to the original creditor asking for deeds of assignment as well. |

| | Classic Account Customer | Re: Arrow Global Cor information overload!
Thanks everybody - I especially liked Diskmandave's photo. Doesn't look like the London headquarters of a major financial institution, does it?!!
The MBNA link is very interesting and thanks for that information Fantasycharges. My account was originally with MBNA and they were in default under a CCA request when they assigned the account to Arrow. They were well aware they were in default and I've got them bang to rights but they still assigned it. Interestingly enough Arrow claim it was assigned from March 2007 - MBNA only told me in July 2007 and were corresponding with me about the account until September. First correspondence received from Arrow dated 24th October 2007 (default notice and letter notifying us of assignment).
So basically MBNA are in breach of the Consumer Credit Act, have acted unlawfully in assigning the account - to another company in the same group, who must also be aware they are acting unlawfully! Wonder what a judge would make of that?!
And this is definitely the address they specify for data protection act requests, Fantasycharges. In the assignment letter they specifically state that they are now the data controllers and all requests for data should be sent to the Mortimer Street address.
Bloody cowboys... |
