Default do dca's communicate with each other

hi (rory) and any other input much appreciated
fred international have sent a letter after almost a year of silence from other dca's (the last muck hall)....anyhoo cap 1 officially defaulted my account 26/01/04. I made the last payment june 2003. I think I may have acknowledged the alleged debt march 2004 with a dca asking for payment plan which was refused. Is fred likely to have this info?...I have not, since then communicated with any off a long line of dca's. Therefore my question is do think since i've made no payment since june 2003 this can be safely statue barred??
Also I believe bryan carter are conected with fred...is there any history of them attempting to sue in scotland?

Probably not.

Making an offer of payment in writing would be classed as an acknowledgement of the debt but DCA's generally are very poor with keeping paperwork. Personally I would just send them a statute barred letter.

BC are very strongly connected with Fred but I have never known them to take action in Scotland. Perhaps it's because he's not qualified to act as a solicitor in Scotland so can't charge fees as a solicitor.

I don't see any harm in just ignoring it for the moment.

In reply to your PM, I would send them the statute barred letter as they are unlikely to have a record of your offer of payment. The statute barred letter does not acknowledge any debt to them and just so that they are in no doubt you can always put I DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY DEBT in big bold letters at the top of the letter.

Did you just sit tight?

basically mackenzie hall sent 2 letters then nothing for almost a year...thought it had died a death....before that lowell tried for about 6 months......reading through other threads on this site it would appear that fred international and bryan cater are more aggresive and need to be dealt with differently and most important do not ignore due to their alegidely under-hand methods...sorry can't spell aledgily

It's highly unlikely. He isn't qualified to act as a solicitor in Scotland so couldn't claim any fees as a solicitor plus would have to enter an argument based on Scots Law which you could easily defend.
