| | Site Team The Consumer Action Group | Re: cant help wont help Well they are wrong - am I right to assume that you bought it just over a year ago?
If so, then are you reasonably expected to buy a new 42" plazma screen tv every 13 months? Of course not, and no court in the land would uphold that view (which by proxy is the view that Curry's seeminly have).
Have a read of this: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/cag.php
about extended warranties.
You will get a new tv - it's the law (SOGAS Act - in the library).

| | Gold Account Customer | Re: cant help wont help Under the sales of goods act, they are in breech of contract as it was not durable (did not last for a reasonable amount of time).
Before they issue you with a repair or replacment at there discression, companys like to see if they can pull a fast one, and check to see if it is a manufactering issue, or if it is accidental damage, customer misuse etc.
As it is over 6 months, it is for you to prove and therfore (as far as I am aware) you have to pay for the engineer. However get currys to agree, that if it turns out to be a manufactering fault that they will refund you the amount it cost you, as they requested this.
If it turns out to be a manufactering fault, you are entiltiled to a working product whether they repair it or replace it, or alternativly offer a partial refund, which is usually to the cost of you getting it repaired or replaced yourself.
Read this link for the SOGA facts in a nice eaily readable sheet: http://www.dti.gov.uk/consumers/fact...page24700.html

Well done.
Have they given you information as to what was repaired. Your entitled to know as if the same part goes again then you can again make a claim The work & any replacement parts must also carry a warranty & are subject to the SOGA |
