Angry Dsg/Whatever happends refused to repair my laptop

Hi all

Just thought i would let you all know my story with the service I have had from dsg/whatever happens.

I work for currys and been there as a sales person for 3 years now.
I know what I am covered for under there whatever happens service as I sell this on a daily bases.
I decided to take the service out on my laptop because I had it on a previous 1 and the replaced it no problem.
A few months down the line I had an accident with my laptop and it got smashed. The main damage was to the back of the laptop and the DVD drive flew out and broke off. I called Whatever happens and the collected the laptop from the shop I work at. 21 days later the laptop arrived back at the shop un-fixed. After closer inspection to the laptop I had noticed that the screen had been smashed, a huge scratch was on the top of the laptop and the cassing had been ripped open. This damage was not there when I sent it away. I phoned the Whatever happens team and they said they are not willing to repair the item due to neglect and if I wanted to take this further I had to wright to them and explain why I was not happy. So I wrote to them and after 2 months I got a reply from a man who said he had investigated the issue and he had decided that I was at fault so I cannot do anything about my complaint.

I have now contacted trading standards to see if they will help because the whatever happens team wont even talk to me about this now.

The repair was booked with the tech guys almost 10 months ago and whatever happens have been taking money of me for the last 6 months even though the laptop is broken and they wont fix it.

You would think they would help me out a little with me working for the same company but nope I got the door shut in my face

Can anyone give me any advice on what to do

Speak to your Manager/Area Manager.

OR

Contact Retail Support, don't tell them you are the customer, just tell them there is a customer in store.

OR

Contact Dixons Confidential Staff Hotline, Tel Number on Compas.

From what i understand they are in breach of their terms and Conditions on this occasion. Phone Whateverhappens and tell them that you are now refusing to sell their product.

If you still have no success, phone Hemel and ask to speak to Russell Legg. He is very firendly to talk to.

Hope this helps. I work for Currys too and have had many runnings with whateverhappens.
