I bought a laptop from Currys roughly 6 months ago, and it has decided to pack up on me and die now

I mainly use the laptop for work related things (for example talking to clients) but as it's a personal product, I also have some home use as well.
I took it back asking for a like for like swap, and they have said they can only offer a repair. I'm not asking for a refund, or a new product. Just the same simple item. In the store they have said that it is going to be at least 17 days till repairs can be done (Picking laptop up monday, then at least 2 weeks to sort it out) which is a time scale that work reasons mean I cannot be without my laptop.
Am I wrong to ask them again for a replacement, or do I have to bite the bullet and accept a wait time like that? Under the Sales of goods acts it states
However, the repair or replacement must be carried out within a reasonable time and without causing significant inconvenience to the consumer.
Now as it's a work related issue, it would have a very negative impact upon my work. Is it possible to use this in my quest for a replacement?
