Default LG 50" Plasma AV1 faulty after 17 months

Hi all,

New to the forum but seems really good from what I have read so far.

Now to my problem, I purchased an LG 50" plasma model 50PX4D at the end of may last year. Not long after I bought it it seemed to have an intermitant fault where when switching between AV channels the TV would lockup and the only way to resolve it would be to turn it off at the wall (I also called LG customer support and they said this should be an ok way of fixing it as it was intermittant and didn't really seem a fault as it could be caused by something I had plugged in to it)
2 days ago I turned on the TV and switched to AV1 (which has the sky box plugged in to it) and the screen had black dots all over it and was flashing. At first I thought it was interference on the sky box so I plugged this in to AV2 and it worked fine. Also tried different scart sockets in AV1 and they all had the same interference. So looks like AV1 is knackered.

I went to Currys who basically wern't interested as I had it over a year so I emailed LG who said they would look at it as long as I had it less than a year otherwise there will be a charge.

Now after reading consumer rights (which says items should last up to 6 years) I think 17 months for a £2000 TV is a bit of a short life.

I am a bit stuck on what to do next, I have never been good at argueing and writing letters so is there anywhere I could get advice on what to write or who to send it too?

Thank you very much in advance for any help,

Kind Regards

Daniel
