Default experian, just got an alert re new search?

Im on one of those free 30 day trials with experian,
just got an email alert that a new search has been made on my file
just checked and its one of my credit card companies who are in default of my cca made a check a few days ago, why would they be checking,?
what exactly do they see , do they see the same as me, ie all my accounts and balances etc or do they just get access to the credit score and the status of the accounts?
my trial is due to expire soon, is it worth keeping on or is there a better option to keep aware of whats going on in my credit file?

I did keep mine going just to see what would happen. It has proved a bit useful in that I get alerted whenever a DCA updates my file. It also gives me some peace of mind while nothing is reported.
I do NOT repeat NOT advocate this for everyone. This was a purely personal decision by me, as I judged that any damage had been done when I originally applied.

How does it compare with a £2 report each month or so?

Do searches appear on those?

hi mak

the problem with these free offers is that the cra and dca are hand in glove
if you have any outstanding debts long forgotten about, prepare for the onslaught

for instance, why do the cra make a phone number compulsary, its so it can be passed to there dca friends

now that the damage has been done, i would keep the subscription going.
i have had quite a few defaults removed only for them to appear later.
the companies say in error and remove them again, but with out the allerts i would never know

that way, any dispute can be delt with straight away rather when you next pay a £2 fee and get your file

i have had my subscription going over a year and check my files every month

I have one lot who have not chased me for 2 years now, so I am also using the subscription to see if they search my file before it is statute barred in 1 year. As stated above, only use it if you a prepared for the consequences.
