Question Littlewoods/Experian

Morning, I am new and not sure what I am doing but could do with some advice please. I checked my Experian credit file this morning as my bank said I had some adverse credit going back 3 addresses. Legal Direct Recs have put a default on my account on Oct 2007. I moved from this address in May 2006 owing nothing. What do I do to clear this up?? Thanks

You will need to contact Legal Direct Recs.
CREDIT CONTROL MANAGER, LITTLEWOODS FINANCE COMPANY, AINTREE
INNOVATION CENTRE, PARK LANE, BOOTLE, L30 1SL

If you are completely unaware of any debt owing to them request a complete S.A.R. LETTER HERE
this is a full statement of the account which they charge £10.Adjust letter to suit.
DO NOT SIGN IT
Once you have this info you can evaluate where you stand. Have a read of the Debt collection threads for even more info.
As for experian, they wont just remove the information, they will go by what the companies say, although you can have a "notice of correction" placed on your file regarding the entry they have made.

Thumbs up Re: Littlewoods/Experian

I have written to them and have had to send bank statements to prove that I have not lived at the old address where the default is logged. They have passed it to the Fraud department, so I am waiting to hear.

Send a section 10 notice under the Data Protection Act and demand they remove the entry, you should not have sent any Bank statements they have no legal right to ask to see them, and can be in trouble for asking to see them...there are other ways for them to prove you moved from that address, by them checking the electoral register and the post office etc etc.
Tell them in no uncertain terms also. That the request is a breach of Article 8 of The Europan Convention on Human Rights ...the right to privacy of home life and personal correspondence.
