Default Equifax and CCJ that never was

I have previously had my identity stolen so check the reports regularly now. Well about every year.

Anyway DVLA took me to court over non payment of road tax for a car I had sold. DVLA were sent proof I had sold it and proof the details were sent to them. They responded with a letter withdrawing. The court did not receive the letter and I went to court.

I showed the judge the letter and the case was dismissed, I have the dismall notice from the court.

However Equifax have recorded this as a CCJ.

The question is can I claim compensation from them?

Also how can I get this removed. They are telling me all sorts of S**T.

Have you sent Equifax a copy of the court dismissal notice?

There are a lot of people who are unhappy with the actions of the CRAs. There is a thread on here called 'Experian... The final battle commences' which is worth a read. I suspect that us caggers will eventually get a case together against these people who have so much control over our finances whilst relying on untrue information (I am being polite) and refusing to believe us when we dispute it.

Hi Goldlady,

Thanks for the reply.

I have faxed and sent a copy of the dismissal.

However they want the original and I am reluctant to send it.

The court office tell me I can not get another one.

It is only Equifax that have this recorded as a CCJ. The other 2 do not.

What a pain they are. I suppose you could send them the original by special delivery but insist that it is returned to you. They should be able to check with the court anyway - idiots
