| Equifarce Are these guys for real?
I submitted a dispute with Experian and it's been open over 20 days now because BoS have failed to respond so far.
I submit the same dispute to Equifarce and they close the case 24 hours later saying the dispute has been submitted to The Customer Complaints Dept of the "client" and the "client" will be in touch directly.
I then dispute them closing the case and they just fob me off saying their answer is adequare and the case is now close!
They make the banks look like customer service champions! |

| | Gold Account Customer | Re: Equifarce I would very much like to do that but would they let you have it. I want to see any correspondence between Equifax and Barclays, I have done a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) with Barclays and Equifax but no correspondence between them were in their bundles.
Would correspondence come under 'any material that qualifies for disclosure as "personal data" to supply to us joe public.
The above quote was sent to me recently by Barclay's stating they the Information Commissioners Office sent them a request for it. I never asked asked the Information Commissioners Office to request any further data from Barclay's as they had already sent me 3 letter advising that they had no further data except for old internal statements. What is going on here???
I did copy Information Commissioners Office into my correspondence that I sent to Barclays but would the Information Commissioners Office have acted on that alone. |

We wish to advised you that the client responded stating 'This has been passed to Customer Complaints Department with the attachments.' They will contact you directly with the outcome of this query.
| Hmmm, hardly what I would call making any effort what-so-ever to substantiate their data. Oh well: Quote:
LETTER BEFORE ACTION
I am not satisfied that Equifax have made any effort to verify the default at all. You, therefore, have been and continue to process, publish and share personal data about me which is incorrect. I therefore require Equifax to cease and desist publishing, sharing and processing this account from Bank of Scotland, which contains incorrect information, within 14 days. Should you continue to publish this information, I will have no choice but to raise legal action against your company for libel. This information is misleading to potential creditors and is damaging my creditworthiness.
Since this has been sent electronically, I will take it as served today, 28th July 2008.
Yours Faithfully,
knoxvillain

| Re: Equifarce Hi Knoxvillain
are you using the Equifax online dispute carry on? If you are, just 'ask another question'. I raised the same dispute on two different 'threads' and got two completely different answers. If this works for you also it would be particularly useful in court to show the incompetence/lack of procedure/no rules etc.
1st - the company has verified blah blah
2nd - no response, info removed!
I then raised the same dispute 3 times for an account that wasn't mine and hey presto, 3 different answers over a 4 week period:
1st - company has verified blah
2nd - company has asked you deal with them direct and closed dispute
3rd - no response - whole a/c removed from my file
Left hand/right hand - try it, see what happens!
(btw, I did not try this on purpose, I just couldn't 'update' my question anymore so asked new ones and found this out lol) |

| | Gold Account Customer | Re: Equifarce Need help with filling-in official complain form from Information Commissioners Office - where it say what relationship you have with the company ie employee, customer or account holder. Now this from is in relation to Equifax who let 2 organizations into my credit file and put searches there without my consent, they have taken off one of search becasue the Wescot had nothing to say why they put the search on my file. Bless Equifax they gave this an incident number, very good of them????... but they have not supplied any details as yet for the there other search being put on my credit file by BCW.
I do not know what to put myself on the Information Commissioners Office form in relation to my complaint regarding Equifax, I am not an employee or a customer or an account holder with these people disguised as people financilal controllers.
Should I leave this part blank. |

| Re: Equifarce Yeah, the only way to get to them is through the courts but us little people have the same problem as we do against the banks, are we willing to take the chance of getting hit by thousands of pounds in costs? Probably not!
Information Commissioners Office may not be able to "punish" them (fine them or something) but I believe they can order incorrect/unfair data to be amended/erased if they see fit. |

| Re: Equifarce This only worked with Equifax's online dispute section. Experian have the most infuriating (and to me very unsecure) system of e-mailing them and waiting for a response - useless.
Call credit are even worse - you can only write or e-mail them using their website and wait ages for a reply, which is nonsense again. They listed my CCJ & electoral roll details wrong and have had to force them to change it - and I mean force. The mistakes are typos but they refused to double check and wanted me to get the proof and send it in to them - lazy beggars!
BTW, about Equifax, they seem to think that ANY response within the 28 days is enough to justify the data, even just the crap you and allwood have been hit with. Funny, thats not what the information commissioner says..... |
