Co-Op Beyond six years

Any thoughts on this. I had an old account with Co-op which I got defaulted for about 5 1/2 years ago - it shows on my credit file.

I filed an Subject Access Request and they have no record of an account in my name with them, I have spoken to telephone banking at Co-op and they have no record.

The long and the short of it is I really want the default removing from my account. What is my best action and does any one have any success in obtaining statements from over 6 years from Co-op?

Any help would be gratefully received.

but it sounds like it could be a long haul.
it a few months it will drop off any how by itself [6 yrs rule]

'cause the otherway to look at this is
well if they cant find any A/C details for you.
how can they justify having a default against you on your CRA!

demand it be removed.

you will need to get the data from the credit reference agency which holds the default details, then present the bank with a copy [not the original] along with details of your original Subject Access Request & fee. Tell them to forward your details or you will take the matter further under the DPA1998 with the Information Commissioners Office
