Default ste_dexter vs Co-op bank

Well, having been looking around this and various other sites, sent a Subject Access Request to the co-op with a cheque for £10 and waited. Heard nothing, went over the 40 days so reported them to the info commisioner and then this morning a list of my charges dropped thru the door, along with the cheque i had sent. They have even put on the totals they have charged me. Wonder if this is to try and save the 8% i'm going to add for the interest? Will be sending my prelim later today so will keep you posted. At the moment without the interest the figure is just over £2600.

Will keep you posted, just off to calculate the interest at 8% now.

PS,

Just been reading some others posts about the debit interest that the co-op have added to my account. I asked for a list of the charges and they have supplied this, with a seperate column for the debit interest. This column totals at £460 or there abouts. Do i try and claim this back or should i leave it and just go after the columns marked fees and commision?

Sorry if this has been covered before, i did try a search but there is so much info on this site.

I have a claim going on now with barclays, and the interest almost doubles the amount im claiming. I am also claiming interest on the interest that i have paid.
If you go to the templates library, you will be able to download a spreadsheet calculator which will help you. -you put your charges in and it will automatically calculate interest which you can charge the bank.

even though with my claim, the co-op paid the 8%, it is not something you can do until you get to the MCOL stage.

you could, if you wanted, claim contractural interest [there are plenty of threads on this to read], or if you are really cleaver, workout what proportion of your overdfart interst IS as a result of unlawfull charges, that part you can claim, but not everything labelled interest.

is this a credit card or a Bank A/C?

TBH if it is a bank A/C, i would be inclined to go for Cont int, then when they offer back just the charges, then send my letter No.2. & get the 8% from them

do a bit of reading of other threads

Been thinking about it today and having had a re read of things decided to not bother in working out the 8% yet. I'm going to go simply for the charges at the moment. Its enough money to clear off my overdraft and a couple of other things. Letter goes out tonight.
