Angry Cashminder Account

Called co-op today to request return of a £19.50 Commission/Charge and they have refused as the charge they state is correct and clearly stated in their terms and conditions (where have we heard this before?), they also stated that as I had a previous charge refunded (due to a Bank error), if I had one more within the next 3 months then they will be looking to close the account as it's not acceptable for the account to be overdrawn, have charges.

They require that monies are paid in the Day before a ransaction is due to be paid.

But they debit charges/commission on the day the account is overdrawn without warning, the letters actually arrive warning you about 4 days later. therefore not giving people the time to sort things out.

This is surely unfair.

I am about to write a letter requesting the return of my £19.50 (not alot I know but it's mine).

Guess I need to look for a new bank.

Yes, I agree it seems unfair.

I've been very happy with HSBC's Basic bank account, and a number of users have stated that the NatWest Step account is good.

Let us know how you get on
