Default Fee returned

Morning all

I had a letter from the Co-Op Credit card yesterday with a cheque for £25 refunding a late payment charge from 2004. I actually closed the credit card a couple of months afterwards so have had no dealings with them since. In addition and this is the best bit - they have removed the missed payment note on the credit register. The letter was not unpleasent but they did get a paragraph in there saying that I agreed to all of their terms blah blah blah.

Good news and thanks for the advice so far.

Just Barclays, Amex and MBNA to go........

Hi Lou
Can you help? I read earlier on another post that someone said that if you pursue your bank that they can register a default against you? Surely that cannot be right. That flies in the face of what we are doing here right?
Can you shed some light or direct me accordingly.

Many thanks

Just because we are persuing them for charges, they cannot enter a defult, if you owe money to them, and they have requested repayment form you spending it, and you refuse then yes they are entitled to default if you refuse to co-operate and you are indebted to them.

Dont worry, they cant default just because you are trying to get a refund!
