Default Is it worth trying to get back just a £25 charge?

Hello all,
I have just incurred a £25 charge for going over my overdraft limit. I noticed that most of the posts on this forum seem to relate to large amounts of charges and I was wondering how or if I should go about trying to get this money reimbursed?
Thanks
Stephen

If this is the only charge that the bank has ever made, then you are best advised to try to resolve this directly with the bank, maybe in branch, maybe on the phone - whatever suits you best.

If you feel there may have been others in the past, you might be better off asking for your info under the Data Protection Act and seeing what the total is first.

There is nothing to stop you from using the step-by-step guide to reclaiming this £25 if they refuse, after your initial request....

I've had no joy on the phone trying to get the charge waived. They just kept saying that it was not a bank error so they couldn't waive the charge.
I suppose the next step would be to send a "preliminary approach" letter that I keep reading about on this forum. The only problem is that I can't seem to find it.
Any ideas on how I should deal with this would be greatly appreciated.
Stephen

In which case, look for the FAQ section, and read everything in there. Only when you have done this, go to the TEMPLATES LIBRARY.

All will become clear.

Who would you prefer to have the £25? You, or your Bank?

Good Luck with the claim!

I tried to resolve a similar case on the phone and had no joy. Printed out the letter from the templates library and was refunded immediately.

I didn't think I had many other charges but checked my statements and found £200 worth of charges so I'm writing again!
