Just got Charges back but swallowed by overdraft

Hello Can anyone suggest something. After only sending my first letter asking for £1240.42, the Co-op first wrote back saying they are looking in to it, today just as I am posting my second letter, they have written saying they have transferred the full amount into my account, however the overdraft that I am paying off gradually has swallowed most of that amount. Can I write and ask for a seperate cheque as the Co-op will not let me transfer the full amount out. My happiness has been turned to fury.Please advise.

The Co-op can offset your repayment against your overdraft. At least they are paying you without any hassle and you will have a reduced overdraft.

Thank You I know and part of me knows I has claimed victory, but I didn't want them to have their money back straght away, it's the principle of it. but it offers hope to others that they paid up straight away. I do need to write to them as there is no mention of removing my default that was put on because of my bank loan with them because of taking £155.00 one week in charges meant I couldn't pay it, so I will still be hassling them.
