Preliminary letter sent today - asking for the refund of £185 charged over a period of four months last year (most charges coming about because previous charges sent me overdrawn).

Was able to find all my charge details on Co-op online banking - beats getting them to send copies to me.

Would love to see their justification of the charges - £15-£25 per time and for that I never even received a letter, just notification on my statement!

Had the normal "we'll get back to you" standard letter last Friday, and then yesterday a phone call from a very nice lady called Linda in their Complaints dept (was last day before the LBA would have gone to them).

She made a passing reference to "all these internet sites" - guess we must be making them busy. As a "goodwill gesture" all charges are to be refunded back to my account. Will be watching like a hawk to make sure this happens.

All in all, some kudos to Co-Op. OK, they charged in the first place but getting a repayment from them appears to have been relatively painless.
