Default Owessomuch v Co-op

I am trying to claim back £283 from the Co-op for bank charges but don't know if I will have any luck because the account is closed.

They made the charges during 2002-2003 so once my account was clear I closed it for the reason of charges.

I still have all my statements and have sent them my 1st letter detailing each charge, how much and the date it was made so they can't say that they need to look to far into it because I've laid it all out for them!

Only problem is now, I sent the letter recorded delivery on 15th September but I still can't find it on Track and Trace with Royal Mail. I've called the customer services department and they have said that it will not be classed as lost post until 4th October

Do you think I should resend the letter or wait until the 4th to see what happens? I had given Co-op until this Friday 29th September to reply and I have not heard anything so far. Is this common? Should I go ahead and issue LBA?

Any advise would be a great help

My advice would be to start over again if you know it hasn't been delivered. Also keep checking your 1st letter on the royal mail system and if it shows up in the meantime, proceed with your original timetable.

Just an update.

I have sent a duplicate copy of my letter (that Royal Mail have lost) to both Delf House and Balloon Street. They should receive them this morning so just a case of waiting for a reply now.

Fingers crossed!
