I have this weekend initiated a claim for £1,850 for charges going back 6 years. Will keep the forum updated as to my progress!

I would suggest you read some of the co-op threads to try and get this information.
If this is something that troubles you then you must be prepared.
Some banks have been giving 30 day termination notices but most have just issued a reminder that they reserve the right out of commercial judgement to withdraw banking facilities for further breaches of their terms and conditions.
Basically its a second chance !

Virgin media; Won Settled out of Court for full amount plus wasted costs.
Vanquis;Looking for the hidden charges !
Swinton Insurance-LBA sent
Retail Loss Prevention-assisting 2 victims.

Christmas has gone but......the mission goes on.
Wishing all a great year in 2009-and hope everyone gets ALL their charges back..and justice for any other issues that come your way.

Any mods reading this - you think it would be worth having a seperate section to monitor this? Like the litigation section. We could just give you the bank name and whether they have closed the accounts?

Any thoughts?

I think that's a great idea!....It will show forum members which Banks are the most 'Vindictive' when it comes to repaying thier ill-gotten gains!

While its fair to say there have been account closures as a result of claiming charges back,these have been accross the board.and though A&L and the
Co-Op have been making big noises about it,most of the banks if not all, have issued warnings about future conduct.

I suspect there have been gains all round so a bit like swings and roundabouts I would imagine a few banks have done better than others even at this stage.

There is no doubt events are being monitored and where there is a real concern it will be addressed,I have not seen any evidence yet to suggest wholesale monitoring would be a real need,although at a later date it may need to be looked at.
I am sure if the Admin think it would benefit then it could happen.

You must remember tho...........its in the banks interest to attract and keep as many of its customers as it can and additionally seek out new ones.
If they are paying a guy back his charges and it goes back into his account they are still making money.......if there are 10,000 of these guys then that adds up..........why let them go to a rival bank and earn them something out of their mistake ?

think about it.
