Charges = Commission?

I just spoke to the Co-Operative bank about paying back an overdraft.

I said I was willing to pay the entire amount until they applied a £60 charge for a letter.

As a "gesture of goodwill" (yes, I laughed too), they removed the charge and asked me to arrange a repayment schedule. But they referred to the £60 charge as "commission" ?!

I offered £2 a month, and they had no choice to accept

There we go - They screw with me, I screw with them

Get it in writing - also is the interest frozen?
If it isn't then the debt will go up and one day you will find that they have sold it on.

Oh, I made them stop the interest too of course

I'm just thinking it's going to be irritating them taking £2 a month for like god knows how long. I'll pay it in full when they ring me again in 3 months to check if I've paid the £6

I have just received an offer from HSBC which I have decided to refuse although they have put in a defence on my small claim.they have also refused to pay any intersest. What should i do now? I am in the process of filling out the court allocation questionaire
