"What payment methods can I use to make a purchase?
Comet.co.uk accepts most major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Delta, American Express and Time Card.
We also offer the facility to pay by cheque or use promotional credit that is offered on some products."
So how does it look exactly.. cuz i never use that kind of paying ? |

How long it take from the moment when i gave them cheque to the time when that amount gonna be taken from my account ?
And can i take goods straight away or i need to wait untill cheque has been cleared ? | AFAIK, Comet uses Transax - so providing you have adequate ID, you will be allowed to take the goods immediately.
Your account will be debited within a couple of days of handing over the cheque |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Cheque in Comet No. The point of Transax is that it guarantees the payment to the retailer. If the cheque bounces, they pay the retailer and chase the cheque issuer for the amount plus their charges. They also place a marker so that you don't get the guarantee again
I am not aware of cheque guarantee cards beyond £250. The Transax system allows you to purchase and take home items costing more than that |

| | Platinum Account Customer | Re: Cheque in Comet can't you just use the debit card to pay? I wouldn't carry that much cash personally.
You could get a friend or relative to pay, and you could write a cheque out to them for the amount whihc they can deposit into their account. that doesn't require a guarantee card (but make sure the money is in though or the bank will sting you!). I regularly transfer large sums of money that way.
Oh, just in case you didn't know, never ever carry your cheque book and card together - keep them separate (and if you know the payee name, try to write it one the cheque before leaving home so that no-one else can use it if it gets lost, just take the individual cheque and leave the book at home).
