Just flicking through my old statements and noticed Cap One did make a 'good will gesture' without any pressure from myself into my account. Should I knock this off the charges I have calculated or should I go for the whole lot?

You dont have to accept it, you can say i accept it in part payment (chances are they will say no it this full and final or nothing) and will persue you for the rest heres a letter template http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...ent-offer.html
