Default Tom vs Capital One

New thread for me as I'm trying to get any charges back from Capital One...

I spoke to a person from their customer services team this evening on the telephone to try and get all statements sent to me since account was opened. He put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back telling me that I will receive them in 7-10 days.

Is that excellent customer service or just a fob-off?? He also told me that there would be no charge for sending all statements out to me. Ill believe it when I see it, I suppose.

Has anyone else experienced this from Cap One?

BarclayCard - Click!

Claiming £350. Partial refund of £120 received.
Moneyclaim deemed served on 30/9/2006. Darn it, defence filed 4 hours before deadline!

Capital One - Click!
Claiming £190. Partial refund of £72 received.
Sent LBA on 24th September. Cap one won't refund me.

Going for contractual interest on this one, after Lloyds and Barclaycard pay up!

Well - I must say that i'm pleasantly surprised.

Statements arrived this morning. I didn't have to write to them or chase them even once. Happy days.

£180 worth of charges to claim back. Will be writing out prelim letter today. May even speak to their nice customer service desk to see if they will be nice enough to refund me 'hassle-free'. Doubt that, but may be worth a go.

Just a quick update. Nothing heard from Capital One yet. Sent Prelim on 1/9/06. Few more days and i'll be sending them LBA if I haven't heard. I hope that they are reasonably quick at refunding people's money!

Barclaycard did the same to me... It seems to be a pattern with the credit card companies. I am a few days away from filing with MCOL against them. Was hoping to avoid doing that with cap one, but im prepared to do so if necessary.

Good luck with your claim!
