Cap One cred card - lost my account number!!

Hi - I am a former customer of Capital One and after reading about the ability to reclaim bank charges have decided to give it a go.

One problem though - i don't have a note of my account number, its been about 2 years since my account with them was closed.

I really want to get my credit card charges back as i estimate i must have paid about £600-800 (for late/non payment charges) over an appx 3-4 year timespan having only used the card a few times - msot of these charges resulted from balances arising because of their annual charge and not any principal expenditure of mine.

I know its my fault that i didnt keep an eye on the account but as a naive and rather silly student, i've learnt my lesson.

Can i still claim??

I really want to get my own back for this bitter experience.

Yes you can still claim your charges back, if you ring cap one, they should go through your secruity questions with you, to retrieve your account number,

Or check your credit file... it should have any reference numbers on there too

They dont give card numbers out over the phone im afraid

I think they can do it if you write though...
