| Re: Capital one n1 claim help I can't open it, it keeps saying that there was a serious error loading the data and that the document appears to be damaged.
Please try loading up a recent backup copy of the document.
That's for the one with compound and simple interest |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help Have you tried saving it to the desktop, then open excel, once excel opens up, go to the left box at the top, click file open and choose the spreadsheet. It works fine here.

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help Just the charges, as long as there was no zero balance, date, amount, reason for charge, you need to put the % Apr in the box on the 1st page, then it should work it all out.
What was wrong? |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help I think i've done it right
For the interest on penalty is that just for the compound interest or is it for the 8% aswell on the second spreadsheet you sent me and for the amount of interest charged is that just the interest they have added and it works it out between purchases, cash withdrawal etc
Plus also for the interest on my Welcome one the interest isn't added on the same day as the charges were does that matter? as i'm not sure if it's interest on my loan, ppi or charges.
I just wanted to clear it up so i know what i'm doing
Thanks |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help The interest on the spreadsheet works out compound interest, you can't claim the 8% as well, although a few people have managed to do that.
The interest is added to each charge in turn, then totalled up as you go through filling in the boxes.
As the credit card companies won't tell us how they arrive at the figures, we have to use the calculator to get as close as we can. As long as you have the charges, APR, and date taken, it will work out the amount very accurately. After all, it is what they have charged you in the first place.
I have not heard of any problems with the spreadsheets for compound interest on here. |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help ok well for the Welcome charges there are less charges than there is interest added so should i leave them off and just do the compound interest. or should i add them all and put all the dates added and see what happens. |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help That can happen, if the charges are from some time ago, then the interest added at a high rate of APR can be higher than the charges themselves at the end.
You put in the date, reason, amount of charge, it will give you the days passed, and the amount with interest added. It is nt unusual for the interest to be higher than the charge, as it is compounded over time. |

| Re: Capital one n1 claim help Sorry i meant to say that there are less charges of interest than actual charges as in number of charges not amount. There are only 9 charges of interest and 10 seperate charges has been added.
I'm confusing myself now
I've done the date, APR, reason and amount of the penalty it's just the interest under G that i need to figure out. should i put all interest in there with the dates. |
