Exclamation Information needed! - Cap 1 APR hikes -

Have you got a Capital One card?

Have you successfully reclaimed your charges from them?

If you did, did you then see your APR being hiked up by a few % shortly afterwards?

If it happened to you, could you please post here by how much and how long after your win?

I am interested to see if we can establish a pattern and maybe then take it to the FOS, if we can find enough evidence that it is in fact not a coincidence.

Nov 2006 APR was 26.5%

1st Dec 2006 APR 26.5% Charges were paid out after court claim.

May 2007 APR was increased to 29.94%.

I was given the option to pay off the card at the old rate, and close the account, or accept the new rate and carry on using the card account as normal.

6 months later on this occasion they hiked up the APR.

I have the letter here, so can send you a copy Bookie if required.

Thanks, Uk, I might hold you to that, at the moment, I just need to see if we can establish a pattern.

If I had my Subject Access Request request actioned by the sods I'd be able to tell you on weekend. I will try best to check records (not that organised until of late) - is it statements that should be saying this or separate letters?

Is this by any chance something I could 'add' to my FOS complaint as the adjudicator back to work Monday ?

First card taken out in 2004 at 14.7% APR
Credit balance by May 2008 24.09% APR

OH account taken out in May 2005 at 18% APR
Currently 26.48% APR

Being hounded for both accounts which are over credit limit purely because of charges and interest.
