yes but when you go to sign you can see how many people have signed

Petition to: bring in new legislation to prevent the current abuse by banks and companys in relation to Penalty charges.

and I did send it to every one I know in the wider world!

Its lethargy for some people I suppose. I guess with something like this you really can see those who believe in the wider aspect of bank charges, and those who are only interested in getting their money back.

I think on this site though, there are still a large number of people who just simply dont know about it, and there will always be lots of new members who are simply overwhelmed by everything to get involved.

But yes, the numbers are very disappointing, perhaps it just needs to gain a bit of momentum before it really gets going.

Mind you amongst some of the people that I forwarded it to in the wider world I was absolutly shocked by some of the reactions - there are people out there who believe that those of us who are so "careless" with our bank accounts and incur charges should subsidise those who are lucky enough to have sufficient funds never to find themslves in a situation to be surcharged - so in effect the poor should subsidise the rich! They believe that they cannot possibly sign our petition because they will inevitably have to pay for having a bank account. (mind you I am old enough to remember when every one who had a bank account paid - but in those days you could live easily without one!)
