| | Gold Account Customer | Re: Lordchief justice It has certainly made me think that if anything gets to a local court level (mine with Abbey looks like it will happen) then we should write to the court, giving a list of court
reference numbers that that particular bank has gone through with and then settled.
It wouldn't make any difference to us if we did get to court, but we know it wont. If we all did that, then hopefully the local judges would kick up a bit of a stink further up the chain - if at all possible.
I don't know if the system works that way, but worth a thought.

| | Site Team The Consumer Action Group | Re: Lordchief justice This is an excellent idea and we are already preparing to do it. This point has been made on the application grounds for the removal of a stay and also several times to the media.
For some reason the media seems not to have shown any interest.
The correct people to write to about this are the Court Service, The Lord Chancellor's Office and also to your local MP. This is something that I owuld have thought that MPs would find attractively easy to deal with.

| | Gold Account Customer | Re: Lordchief justice BankFodder,
If we are going to do this, would it be simple enough (I know it would be possible, but simple???) to have each bank with a list of cases that have a court number already allocated, and these can be quoted on our letters.
Obviously that list is going to grow, but if we could produce a list of say, 50 for the past 3 months (or maybe even month) for each bank, then it's damning evidence indeed.
Whilst every person (and business) is allowed the choice to defend and then change their mind, we know this is systematic abuse of the system, which is costing the taxpayer thousands each year. |
