Wonder if the OFT and the Judge was listening.... starts about 20 minutes in. BBC iPlayer - Watchdog: 13/10/2008 APACS - the UK Payments Association |

| Re: Only 10p to process a Debit Card says APACS Director I did... and I paid attention, but it doesn't matter, since it's not penalties, they can charge whatever they want, right?
Thank goodness for the UTCCR, though.
(and doesn't Ryanair's MD have one of those faces you could never get tired of slapping, btw?) |

| Re: Only 10p to process a Debit Card says APACS Director I realise that Bookie, but it hammers home the point about the 'actual' costs and cannot go unnoticed when these people are sitting there trying to justify themselves. When Angela ' aren't I so wonderful' Knight comes on like a retired politician using the skill-sets she's learned from pushing political points trying to convince us the charges they make are justified, it makes me sit there on the moral high ground KNOWING there are plenty of people in positions such as Sandra Quinn telling the truth rather than Angela ' the fact of the matter is' Knight's political style spin hoping that what she's telling us is what we want to hear.
I get some masacistic satisfaction from watching her try knowing how pathetically wrong she is but paid to push **** |

I get some masacistic satisfaction from watching her try knowing how pathetically wrong she is but paid to push **** | Oh, I know, Andrew, but the problem is that she doesn't even have to justify them anymore... Cos Smith J made sure of that...
"Mrs Knight, how do you justify those extortionate charges?"
"Well, the judge said they couldn't amount to a penalty, therefore we're in the right to charge what we want when we want as we want, so f*** off peasant".
... Although I have to say I saw her the other day, and she DID look a tad dishevelled, the hair was more Supercuts than Vidal Sassoon and the pearls Claire's Accessories rather than Harrod's!!! Maybe she was jsut trying to show she was cutting back too.
(That's ANOTHER face one wouldn't get tired of slapping, btw).
