Sorry a bit of confusion - in my other post i was asking about if you had waited 14 days on your claim as i was under the impression you had sent your Prelim a week after me.

On the addresses - i wrote to Cahoot, the reply came from Abbey at the following

Banking Specialist Team
PO Box 5885
Milton Keynes.

and the complaint leaflet gives a different PO Box no in MK.

Right just been looking back, and you are sorta right, My prelim was due on 4th April and I sent LBA on 2nd, but for some unknown reason the address that I sent it to has a redirect on it and as of today it still hasn't been delivered. But yesterday I got my standard complaints letter like the one you received

Check out http://www.consumeractiongroup.c o.uk/forum/cahoot/75856-ukmp3-cahoot-7qz31652.html

You will see most of this is the same.

I sent my LBA to BOTH addresses:

The Cahoot Friar's House address (if you use the PO BOX version it re-directs)
The Abbey Charges Team in London (TS6 B03)

Also later on when you get the "we didnt see the charges as it's a different department...we require this information prior to going to court..." you will need to send the charges and interest calculation you are using again.

They are trying to be smart - so send everything in triplicate to all concerned - covers your back in the long run.

Hope that helps.....

Ahh Chris, so we are about the same in the process, as I am on Holiday in 16 days time and I will send my MCOL when I get back, so Cahoot have got a nice long period where they think I have given up, only to hit them with court action

I have been lazy and done nothing but out of the blue i received a letter from Cahoot saying they had completed their investigations and would offer me a goodwill gesture of £145.00!

They said i can go to FOS office. Not sure which way to proceed now FOS or court?

So let me get this straight.... they owe you £240 and are offering £145 as a "gesture of goodwill"?

Write back to them pointing out that if they wish to settle the matter with out wasting the courts time then they should forward a payment of £240.00, give them 7 days to do so and confirm to them after that time you shall proceed to court for full recovery.

Don't say anything else... period.

Worse than that - they owe me £340.

Going to write and request full amount otherwise court plus costs and interest to pay then.
