Hi.

I have started the process of claiming against Cahoot.
I claiming against 2 current accounts and a credit card.
I have received my statements and gone through them.
In total the charges come to £2210.

I now need some advice to proceed.

1. The charges i have included are unauthorised overdraft, returned item charges, over-limit assessment fees and late payment charges. Can i claim for anything else?

2. Can i file the 3 accounts together on 1 claim?

3. All the posts about claiming different types of interest has got my head going around in circles. What’s the best advice and what interest can be claimed against what?

4. On the credit card statements 1 of the charges is for billed deferred finance charges, what are these?

you can claim for anything that does not state interest or service.

on the bank a/c's it is upto you if try for interest you add to the totals
have a read of the contractural interest threads or see my sig if its working.

on the CC you can claim contractural, use the spreadsheets again in my sig

i dont know what that charge means, phone and ask! wont hurt.

I knew i could not claim for interest charges on authorised overdrafts, but are you saying i cannot claim for the interest charges they have levied on top for unauthorised overdraft?

I think i am just going to stick with the normal charges as i tried to read up on the contractural interest threads and all the arguing totally threw me and made no sense.

correct
you cannot claim back anythingthey label interest.

don't forget there are spreadsheets for calculating the cont int, this can be done on the CC a/C, the bank A/C is up to you.

I sent the Prelim letter on 5th March and have received the bog startdard letter saying they will investigate and added their own timescale to do this.

Already have my LBA prepared but confused where to send it to now.

The letter I received was from Abbey, so do I now start using that address from now on (including if I get to the MCOL stage) or do I continue using the Cahoot address?

You can use Abbey's address. I suspect when/if you get to court your claim should be against Abbey National PLC t/a Cahoot although no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong
