Default Cahoot Credit Card Owes...

Hi All,

I am at the court stage with a Cahoot Credit Card, would a case against a credit card get the same brushing off (Stay pending OFT outcome...) as a bank account does anyone know?

I was going to wait before proceding as I have had quite a bit of money put on hold in court fees due to the OFT case with regard to suing bank accounts and don't want to invest yet more money to be given a stay...

My Sister-In-Law got a settlement through last week from a credit card, which prompted me to see if the stay applies to Credit Cards.

Any Help Would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Chris.

The stay doesn't apply to credit cards but some judges are confused and are staying these, of course if they do you can argue against a stay...

Hi All,

I have submitted my N1 court forms for my Cahoot claim and have had a letter saying they are going to defend. There is a copy of their defence with the letter.
Can someone tell me please what my next step is?
I presume I have to counter this, do I have to submit anything or will the court send me something to fill in?

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers.

Hi Jellybabe!

Cahoot were very defiant, sending many letters about their intention to defend claim in court and which solicitors they'd be using and many other ways of posturing to make me think I wouldn't get a penny...

...as with all the other institutions I'd tackled they folded at the last minute and paid up in full. Cahoot were by far the most difficult to deal with, but stick with it and they are still stuck without any defence for their actions...

Hi Jelly,

Get em sorted; they'll pay up if you stick at it...

This is the address I used:

CAHOOT
Friars House
PO Box 1981
Coventry
CV1 2ZD

I also found this address on my credit report:

FRIARS HOUSE, PO BOX 1982, COVENTRY, CV1 2BR

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Chris

Thanks again,
I used the same adress as you then, but Royal Mail said it had to be redirected?? So it took 2 days longer to reach them.
I think i stick with the same adress.
Thanks again

I'm also at the court stage. Received e-mail this moring within 4 days of sending LBA. Also they replied within 4 days to my prlim - so far they are the easiest on my "Target list".

It's only for £123.00 (+13.90 interest).

I expect the usual defence like Halifax did but they will give in closer to the court date.
