I would say anywhere in the centre prob piccadily gardens is the best - as they have a weatherspoons right next to the metrolink station there.

Due to the fact that a few people are coming from out of town I would like to point out that in the city centre there are automatic bollards that let ONLY buses through (and I mean ONLY buses)
