Do you want to see what you can come up with?

How about we go to Farringdon/ Barbican way.

There is a reasonable hotel in St Pauls available

Covent Garden is NOT in London...It is partly in the City of Westminster + also the Borough of Camden!!!
These differences are important to those that live + pay taxes in our Capital.

Swinton is near Manchester + is therefore highly unsuitable for a London Meet!...lol...

Hi Caro!...Have U checked out the Engineering Works on the Chiltern Line that W/E??...
...Did U NOT see the link for the Engineering Works London-Stevenage??

Am sorry that U may think me pedantic again Lula, but Farringdon is also a National Rail Station!
...It is important to know that, for those Members who don't fancy travelling on the Tube, late at night alone.

It is also on First Capital Connect's Thameslink Route + is therefore valid for their £11 Day Save unlimited travel Ticket.

I saw what U said DS
...That's why I mentioned somewhere like St. Albans
Late night Trains, both to/from Central London...+ NO planned Engineering Works!...

Swinton Hotel def in Kings Cross and reasonably priced. If there are engineering works I'm guessing coach travel will be supplied. I've paid me money so I'll get there, or set Bookie on them quoting SOGA.

Sounds like a plan to me.

When will you know if you can make it MTM? I know you've been out-voted but if work finishes early enough.....

What about the place Lula suggested, cos I'm gonna have to watch the pennies that close to Christmas.

Whose coming anyway or should I go through the thread and check?

Hello Caro!

U only mentioned Swinton...NOT Swinton Hotel
Forgive me for not being a mind reader.
(...There is a Thread somewhere in the BG that suggests that I answer U using those words?!...lol... )

The Engineering Works mention is not so much that Chiltern won't provide U with travel as per SOGA...It's just that U will have paid for TRAIN travel + could possibly end up with COACH travel.
Train replacement services are notoriously slow.
It may well be the case that U might have been better off actually paying, a usually lower price, for a Coach Ticket + travelling by a possibly quicker Scheduled Express Coach Service??!

Ah well - c'est la vie. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'll try and remember for next time.

Funny, my husband isn't a mind reader either, or so he tells me.

Yes - that would be fantastic. Check the place that Lula suggested, but MTM says there are no trains there that weekend

Or shall we be assertive and just book somewhere and let them find us?

I've just checked your posts earlier MTM and I'm going to Marylebone, and don't think it goes through Stevenage so hope I'll be ok. I'll check the website out to check though.

I just provided a few links to bona fide websites Gizmo
...I didn't say a thing about the train availability!

Conspiracy theories abound Caro.
How do U know that I have even voted??
...Or WHAT I voted??
e.g...Has St.Albans received a vote??
...Does Covent Garden have a Grassy Knoll??...pmsl...

What about the place Lula suggested, cos I'm gonna have to watch the pennies that close to Christmas.

Whose coming anyway or should I go through the thread and check?...NO Comment!...lol...
