Default Problem with Demon internet.

Hi All.

My company migrated from Demon 6 months ago but they are trying to bill us for an extra month. I have disputed this but instead of them speaking to me or answering my emails/calls/faxes they have chosen to set their solicitors on us. I have contacted both the solicitor and the ISP and have been waiting for 7 weeks for a response. What I want to do now is to ask again for a response but this time give them a time line for a response other wise I will 'mark' this situation as closed.

Am I within my rights to do this?

Jason.

If the payment shows on your last Demon bill then you are right in not paying it. I doubt very much if it was a solicitors letter you had, just headed notepaper. It wouldn't be worth getting a solicitor involved for the price of one months broadband.

As you haven't heard, I would hold fire and not chase it up. It was probably a try on but you responded in the negative so they went on to the next customer.

I would second that, however I would recommend that you check your credit records in 6 months time, as it is not uncommon for businesses to put a 'default' on your credit records even if you dispute the amount. If that does happen come back and I'm sure somebody will help, but be aware and watch out.
