Default virgin media contract

Hey there everyone

Early this year in June i signed up for Virgin Media, the package a received was phone, free tv and bb, totally around £22 a month +/- some extras within the month.

To start with when i signed up i never receieved a contract to sign nor did the gentlemen on the other end of the phone explain much to me, they seemed more interested in getting my depostit.

Basically the service was dire, i couldnt say it was never on but it wasnt far from that, the bb would always be on and off same for the tv.

Come Septemeber i moved out of my mums house due to major family problems, thus leaving virgin there.

I contacted Virgin media numberous times to try and sort something out, all they kept saying was its 12 months you owe us £190 to cut the contract. I was not prepared to pay this, after about 5 calls later i got on to someone who nearly had a braincell and he advised to change responbilty to a family memeber that still lived there, thus leaving me free on the burden, i was fine with this £20 to change names.

They said they would send forms out, 1 week no forms 2 weeks no forms, 4 weeks no forms, keep getting told they are on the way.

They never turned up, the thing that annoys me is i wanted to work out a plan with virgin, i paid them a month extra when i was not using the services.

As it stands now after 2 monthes ive canceled the direct debit, they aint getting no more money out of me. The funny thing is they still have the services running, i want to know why they are leaving them running incl the phone, i dont speak to any of my family at that adress any more so they are just using the phone raking a bill up

I never signed anything and just want to be sure that it cant affect my credit rating and if it does where do i stand in what i can do. I wouldnt be that bothered but im looking at getting a morgtage in a year or 2 so dont want any defaults.

where do i stand and can anyone offer any good advice

much appreaicted

owen
