Unhappy Scriptlance Problems!

I did not fully realise how to use Scriptlance... as a result I have lost out a fair bit of money, I never thought I could fall victim to these scams!!! I fell twice ...

Basically I put up a job on Scriptlance and paid the programmer upfront through Scriptlance ... before the job was completed about £500. After months and months he said he can't do it. But won't refund anything. Scriptlance gave me £50 for the delay in them doing anything but said they can't do anything apart from suspend the programmer......Wow that made a lot of difference. I paid through Paypal but I paid Scriptlance first then sent it through to the programmer. I don't think Scriptlance allows me to do chargebacks I signed something to start with and should have taken more care.

I reposted and this other guy with lots of feedback etc wanted half the money upfront this time it quoted at £3k... so £1500 paid again... directly to him through Moneybookers this came out of my Bank account.. he is now not contacting me and ignoring my e-mails.

I've been soooo stupid I know! But is there anyway to take people abroad getting the information from Scriptlance to court or can I bug Scriptlance to work abit harder to get my money back. I promise I won't be stupid again!

I've contacted Moneybookers who said they will make some enquires and get back to me. I've found the first rip-off payment details I paid him through Paypal and Paypal took it from my Bank account. Could I do a Chargeback??? I didn't get any services but Scriptlance may get ****ed.

Hello Robert

Was the coder an approved by Scriptland coder? If so then they will be responsible and suspension will not absolve them. They offered a service and never provided that service, so your beef is with Scriptlist.

Quote:
ScriptLance.com shall have absolute discretion as to whether or not it accepts a particular applicant or site for participation in the service.
I think that ropes them in nicely.

Quote:
Members may not file a complaint with one of our payment processors, including PayPal or 2checkout
This has to be an unfair clause and cannot be enforcable. It's the same as saying that if I, without permission, takes money out of your bank account, you cannot complain to your bank.

I am not an expert in this and have made comments from my own thinking of their T&C's. Someone who may be able to throw some legal light on this will answer shortly I'm sure.

Do you think? They have replied saying they have helped lots of users reclaim money. But this occasion is too late! Well he was giving me excuses and delaying it obviously on purpose. Paypal won't help as it is a service....

Not quite sure what too do??

I think I would issue them a letter before action and see what their response is.

There is no lawful clause in the world that can be added to say that someone can accept money for a service and not provide that service and then not refund the fee.

I believe that the inclusion of this coder and the introduction means that they are acting as his agent.

Well I have spent a few hours trying to find internet advice on cross border litigation with Canada and the Commonwealth but cannot get anything helpful, perhaps I am using the wrong keywords.

Why not try writing or emailing the Canadian Embassy in London first and asking them if you can issue a claim and if so how and to whom.

Hello Mr. Robert,

Sorry to hear that problem with scriptlance i'm someway in the same problem ....

I have a programmer account on scriptlance and the webmaster(buyer) is my friend i work with him for years and for 1 year i use scriptlance to get payed from my webmaster friend .... i gathered arround $1500 and now suddenly Scriptlance suspended my account ... for no reason they don't want to tell me the reason ..... my friend webmaster was shocked ... he has nothing to complain about me .... but they blocked my account so i can't retrieve money

We both wander me and my webmaster why!!! and i ask you if there is a way that my webmaster can retrieve the money back so he can pay me elsewhere ..... the money $1500 are showing in my suspended account.

maybe there's a way that my webmaster can get my money back because he would pay me elsewhere ...

thanks if you read this ..... i'm just shocked $1500 STOLEN BY SCRIPTLANCE WITH NO REASON

Just a though (since I know nothing), but an LBA might still be a good way to show scriptlance that you're serious. No doubt they get a lot of people complaining about payments (whether they are justified or not).

What was the job you commissioned anyway Robert (just out of curiousity)

Hi
with paypal, you can charge back within 3 month or maybe 100days something like that
same goes with moneybookers
don't bother with these sites as they have limited power and can't satisfy all parties
