After having nightmares with Sky, admin agro with NTL/VM and a now a non starter with BT ( they forgot to order and send the modem!!), has anyone had any good experiences or words of warnings about Demon Broadband?

I started with Demon in '91 (pre www), and they were excellent - although I have heard of horror stories since the buy-out in 2000 (?).

Nothing specific though - just the same as you get with all cheap ADSL providers - oversubscribed for it's userbase.

I use Griffin, which while slightly more expensive, has a contention rate of 20:1 rather than 50:1 and have NEVER been kicked off, and have no DL restrictions at all.

Hi, I have been with Demon for several years. If you don`t have any reason to contact their support then you will have no problems.
I was paying £25 a month then noticed that I could get more or less the same for £20 a month. To get onto the £20 a month, I had to cease my account and
start up again with a 10 day gap of no broadband. Not very clever.
They have very little downtime, possibly once every couple of months on a
Sunday for maintainence.
I would give them 9 out of 10.
