Question Quick Brighthouse question

Hi everybody

I've just got a Baird 47'' TV from Brighthouse.

The picture is perfect, problem is the sound,it sounds like an old 80's tv set.
Tried all the audio settings, even the the equalizer but nothing seems to improve the sound.
There's not even an audio out so i could hook up an amp.

Went into Brighthouse yesterday i told them about this, they said they could send a repair man out,i told then i would have another go before they do that,to be honest i can't see what the repair man could do anyway.

My question is can i get it replaced with another set anything but Baird, after reading some of the horror stories on here i don't want to go through all the agro with them.

I just don't want them saying i have to keep this tv and sign up for another one.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can - go to the shop tomorrow and tell them you are rejecting it on the grounds it is faulty.

Ditto to Conniff and Rory32 (although, Rory, just a tiny correction, it is the Supply of Goods (implied terms) Act 1973 and not S.O.G.A as Brighthouse deal only in hire purchase/conditional sale agreements.

If you have only just taken delivery of it, simply reject it as faulty and ask for a refund on what you have paid to date. My guess is that Brighthouse will treat you like an idiot and say that's not possible etc etc... Just stand your ground and quote the Law (as above) and don't take any nonesense!

You then have a choice of whether you want to enter into a new agreement for a different make and model of TV. If you do decide to, make sure you know what you're signing and DO NOT be hoodwinked into taking their optional service cover.

Take a little time and read through my Brighthouse Factsheet. You'll find it as a "sticky" at the top of this Brighthouse forum.

Cheers
