Not informing any Credit Ref Agencies

I have noticed that this company never informs a CRA of your repayment record. You could have a 100% payment record yet they don't inform anyone of this. Is this because by not doing so, they do not actually want to help you re-establish your record thus forcing you to remain with them?

Remember there is never a legal obligation to report to the CRA's, although many will inform you differently.

That fact works more in your favour than you might think when it come to troubles.

Could also be because the company you speak of may not pay the subscriber fees to the CRA's as a business decision - nothing illegal in that.


Have a dig around here and you'll see there are any number of dodgy-dealings going on, so if you are worried you should enquire as to why this may be.

what company are you talking about?
i have been advised by CAB and FOS that a crediter has a legal obligation to update your credit file within 8 weeks..
i got mine updated after a partial settlement but it took a letter from the FOS.

I think the point that the OP is making is Brighthouse make no effort to actually help people restore their credit rating - even though they imply that they do.

By having a 100% perfect payment record with them will be of no interest whatsoever to any other lender.

Interestingly, Brighthouse do not inform any CRA of defaults either!
