Hi guys - can anyone recommend books that in some way cover this sort of thing - civil stuff, consumer law/rights, or the same stuff with a journalistic/reportage/general knowledge bent?

I'd be really grateful

That's the intention

Hopefully if people like the ones we have and can recommend, then they will buy them through the Amazon link and we get 5% of the sale which is badly needed at the moment for our costs.

...durrr...but you have to review/recommend them before we can buy them. I was actually thinking about asking for a list of books you guys have bought to date, at least those that cover contract and financial law...

Any chance of a review/overview?

Thanks BF - that's a great list. Are those order numbers your own reference numbers, or the actual Amazon order ref that we can also use? I was particularly interested in reading "Order #: 026-8213959-7579651"

I think that they are the order numbers. I don't think that they are the book reference numbers. However if you search on the titles you will come up with them.

As for the book that you refer to, I don't think that I have received it yet. However I can tell you that any book with a title like that makes me immediately suspicious.

I can tell you that the very best of the bunch is Patricia Pearl's book which I have included in the announcements to this forum. That is a really good thoroughly useful book. I'm really quite amazed that a County Court judge has managed to produce such an accessible book for the layperson

Hmmm - I hadn't quite thought of like that, but now that you mention it...
