  1. Fwench mobile phone service is far far worse than in the UK!!!

by BankFodder on 6th May 2014 at 08:31 (A say in the life of ....)
You couldn't imagine that it is true , could you - but it is.
Believe me - almost every kind of company is more difficult or more unpleasant or more stupid to deal with than British ones.

For various reasons I have a Fwench mobile phone contract. (and a UK one!)

There is very little competition in France. They don't like it.

For a while I had one with orangeicon. For the first 6 months they never delivered my telephone on my 12 month contract. It took ...

  2. My Kitchen Nightmare

by Jon Danzig on 3rd November 2013 at 21:16
    The story so far..

In January 2013, my friend and I visited a shop in Berkhamsted called Custom Kitchens and Bedrooms Ltd to enquire about a new kitchen for my home.

We’d already visited a number of other kitchen shops, from John Lewis and Habitat, to Howden’s and Wren’s, to smaller outlets. None of the designs so far struck us as anything special. In fact, one nationally-known company even submitted a design with cupboards that covered my kitchen’s only ...

  3. Mr Cameron do you actually know or care what you are doing to peoples lives?

    by cher69cher69 on 27th May 2012 at 07:04
Yes Mr Cameron I would like to ask you this one question do you know what you and your policies are doing to peoples lives? Was it your intention to destroy families, make them homeless, strip them of their dignity, make them feel like criminals, make disabled people feel like scroungers, take away peoples freedom, deny people of their basic human rights. Was this all part of the deal to turn the people of this country into paranoid on the edge maniacs? Because you are creating a time bomb for yourself, ...

  5. If you exercise - then you really need a Heart Rate Monitor

by BankFodder on 27th March 2012 at 08:13 (A say in the life of ....)
If you do structured exercise - meaning regular exercise either in a gymicon, or on a machine - or outside, walking, running or swimming etc as part of a programme in which you have goals to reduce weight, improve heart function etc - then quite frankly, you need a heart rate monitor and you need to understand the principles behind it, why you are using it and how to use it.

I don't think that it is possible to undertake a structured exercise programme without an HRM.

  8. Rent or Buy - But toLet is Killing us

    by colin0908 on 27th February 2011 at 11:04
Why do we pay so much for our homes?

I am weighing up the pros and cons of renting or buying; both seam to leave me with fear. Social housing with it long term agreements are good, but with waiting list never ending that’s seams a impossibility. Private rental cost are a lot higher and with so little protection for tenants and the low 1year contract terms, makes making a place a home is very unreal.
Getting on the first rung of home-ownership seems a better option in ...

  9. My fitness campaign V

by BankFodder on 11th February 2011 at 21:00 (A say in the life of ....)
    Back to the grindstone.

Francoise is French. She is a professional ballet dancer and used to dance at the Opera in Paris. Well over 50 but very very fit, very blonde with very terrific facial definition. Everything you would expect from a ballet dancer, I suppose - or from a female Gestapo officer. I sort of dream of her in a trench coat, peaked hat and monocle and ordering me to do strange things with my body. I wake up and it's not a dream!! - except for the uniform etc. ...

  10. My Fitness Campaign IV

by BankFodder on 4th February 2011 at 21:00 (A say in the life of ....)
I got there early today. I decided that I needed to get there before most of the others, stretch around a bit, limber up and generally look cool. You know what I mean. I figured that if I could get into the mindset a bit then I would be more in control, that I wouldn't be chasing it all the time and I could structure myself a bit as I went along. You can tell that I am really starting to mellow about this thing, can't you. I wouldn't be the one always out of step or starting off ...
