Default Warm front, contribution £2770 Plus VAT ?

Hi, me and my partner qualify for the full £4000 warm front grant for a new oil central heating system, We went through the process and got our Quote through the post and warm front are after £2770 plus VAT on top of the £4000 grant ?. We cant see how this can be justifiable when we only live in a 2 bedroom cottage, has anyone any idea`s of how to go about getting the price down, have been in tuch with the local concil and they dont do the warm front top up grant so am lost as what to do now.
Any help would be great, Thanks

The Warm Front grant is a licence to print money for the companies that won the contracts.
If they feel they are not making much they then ask for additional from the claimants, even though they get the grants due to being low paid, pensioners. on benefits etc. and therefore cannot afford the additional payment....so............ .

Contact Warm Front in the first instance and ask why the quote is so high.
Back this up by getting a couple of quotes from other independent heating engineers (they are a lot cheaper than the large companies) to compare against.
They will look again at reducing the total.
Also ask them who from your local council deals with them as they should have a contact.

Contact EAGA (who run the Warm Front Team) on their customer advice line on 0191 247 3800 and ask them for help

If that fails then contact your council and ask to speak to the environmental department or try your local councillor (that's what they are there for) and ask them for help in getting it sorted. They should have something in place with the government announcement on helping people stay warm.
Hope this helps
