Tax Relief

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but how do i go about claiming back tax paid for something i need to work.

I work in Security so i require a license to do this, on my license forms it states that £X is classed as" Tax Relief" and can be credited back.

I tried phoning the Tx office for 2 days and all i get is "all our operators are busy, try again later" then it cuts you off !!

Drop them a line, it's always better to have it in writing.

The reason they cut you off is because they do not want to run up your phone bill waiting. There are a lot who could take a leaf out of that book.

Ok but how do i find out where to write to when all i have is a phone number ?

Is it my local tax office or the one my employer uses etc ?

I have just seen that you can do it by email, might be handier.
