Default Pension Credit & Personal Pension Plans

Hi

Im wondering if anyone can confirm whether or not the income from a deferred personal pension plan is counted as income by the pension service when they process claims for pension credit. Most calculators I ve used imply they dont {only pensions where you are actually receiving an income seem to} but would like a definitive answer on this if poss

Thanks x

Hello Masjntt

The Pensions own web site would have all the information about how to claim and what is involved so you wouldn't need to call them:
The Pension Service - Guides and forms

However having just had a quick check about what is deferred pension I think this is an income which comes into play at the time requested by the contributor to the plan? If such it could not be ignored as it would be an income at some date in the future - to be sure I think you should check through the pensions site and perhaps especially :

The Pension Service - Guides and forms - Pensioner's Guide

The Pension Service - A to Z
