Default Disability Premium and Child Tax Credit

I have been searching all over various sites to try and find the answer to this question but to no avail .

In November 2007 I became entitled to the disability premium payable in my Income Support, as I had been sick and incapacitated for 12 months.

Does this entitle me to the disability premium payable in my Child Tax Credit which I receive every four weeks from HMRC?

Also do I need to declare to HMRC the increase in my Income Support or is it automatically done? I assumed that as the disability premium is not means tested I don't have to.

If anyone can answer this for me I would be most gratefull.

Thanks
Simon

As far as I am aware, the disability premium in the Child Tax Credit relates to the child only, but I am not 100% sure.

Why don't you phone them and ask them? Better to find out now rather than later and get in trouble if you should have done it.

I think you would get a disability premium in any working tax credit you may claim. Child tax credit is only for disabilities in your children.
