Hi all.

Just thought i would check my emails as i have recieved one from a company calling them selves ICS Monitoring Team. titled my internet connection is going to be suspended.

So it got me thinking Have the bill been paid. Yep the bill says they owe use money the whole round fingure of 1p thats not gonna break the bank so i wont worry about that then.

Ok so i opened it and this is what it says.

Your internet access is going to get suspended

The Internet Service Provider Consorcium was made to protect the rights of software authors, artists.
We conduct regular wiretapping on our networks, to monitor criminal acts.

We are aware of your illegal activities on the internet wich were originating from

You can check the report of your activities in the past 6 month that we have attached. We strongly advise you to stop your activities regarding the illegal downloading of copyrighted material of your internet access will be suspended.

So i thought about it what i have i been on tonight.

mail play and CAG now play and mail were b4 the email time so it cant be them and it is timed just b4 i went and checked them so it can only be CAG.

Now the link/attachment they have sent with it is a virus as my internet softwear is saying it is a virus so i sod off if you think i am opening that.

Well just htought u all should know. Dont go doing anything naughty now will u. LOL

People are still being taken in by the Nigerian 419 scam, which started in the eighties. When you look at that, it's so utterly outrageous that you wonder how they've got the nerve to try it on.

This one is almost believable, especially by anyone who is not knowledgeable regarding computers.

They are an Internet Service Provider, also found an interesting Court Case regarding their missuse of collecting IP data and storage of the websites their clients visit, which they link to your IP address and subsequently you.

Cybercriminals are playing on people's fears of becoming unwittingly involved in piracy with a new spam campaign. security researchers at Trend Micro have discovered a spam campaign that attempts to play on these fears.

With subject lines such as 'Your internet access is going to get suspended', the emails warn the recipient that an organisation called the Internet Service Provider Consorcium [sic] are aware that the account is being used for "illegal activities".

A file which is supposedly a report of illegal activities in the last six months is attached to the email. However, the file is in fact malware.

So don't open it . . .

The good thing about the glaring misspelling of "consortium" is that it made the scam so much easier to track across the internet.

well i try and help were i can dont worry when i noticed the spelling mistakes and the viirus detection come up i knew it was a scam but i did not at first

there is one that is going round from banks fedex and ups.

Basically the banks one is a message saying about internet banking being down or even they have up graded and u need to re register.

The fed ex/ups one is where they say we tried to deliver a parcal but filed please down load fill out and bring this form to our office so u can collect it.
