Default What do you think we should do...?

Hello

Over the last week and a half we have had a cat (with a collar) come to our house and mither to come in. (We own 3 cats). To begin with we just left it for the first couple of days and ignored even with the constant meowing during the day and also at night we could hear it. Anyway this went on for a day or so and when we'd let one of our cats out it came in so we thought it might have been left behind, so we were naughty and fed it and have started to let it in. Yesterday when I was upstairs I noticed that the cat was coming out of one of our neighbours windows so yesterday evening I woudnt let it in as I figured it must be their cat, however I did spot that he slept at the bottom of our garden and this morning when I'd fed our cats and let them out, he came running in from that spot and went straight to the food.

Am in a bit of a dilemma as I feel guilty on one hand as I would hate for my cats to find another home so have been debating whether I should go round and check that it is their cat but not sure what to say?? Any ideas as on one hand I cant help but wonder why he's just descided that he wants to live with us and do I play ignorance (which I do feel guilty about) or go over?

Any help would be appreciated x

We used to have a cat once... we found out it had 4 homes out of our block of 6, each fed it. It was also seen in 2 other blocks. In the mean time take this advice:-

Bathing the Cat

Following are instructions on the best way to bathe your cat:
1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.

2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water, and have both lids lifted.
3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
4. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape). CAUTION: Don't get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out to grab anything they can find. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from your toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides a "powerwash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.
6. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside where he will dry himself. Sincerely,

The DOG

If it scratches around the edges of your windows and the glass falls out then please do not worry.

These are just putty cats.

We once had a cat 'visiting' for the weekend, it wasn't until somebody was petting the animal that they realised it wasn't one of ours... the cat belonged to a neighbour who had gone away and it didn't like being on its own.

As long as the cat hasn't got fleas or starts impregnating your other cats it might be worthwhile sticking signs around your area asking if anyone owns it.
