Smile Becoming More Electronically Organised

I've upgraded an old laptop which I have been given and have increased the memory by 1GB.

I'm unable to retrieve my CAG info which is stored on our main computer as it's out of action - again

However, as I'm too impatient, I'm starting to retrieve the info I need to help out on CAG by wandering through the forums. Before I start though, I'd like some advice on how to become more electronically organised so that I'm able to retrieve info more quickly.

Is it quicker to save links in a Word document, bookmark them, save them to favourites etc.....?

Any advice is much appreciated

I have all my DCA related stuff in one big notepad (.txt) file.
I find that using MS Word causes formatting problems when copy and pasting into CAG forum replies.

I can do an average DCA letter in about 5mins now and my file covers 90% of replies I need.

If it's all in one big notepad, doesn't it take some time scrolling through it all to get to the letter you want?

Wouldn't it be easier to keep the letters individually in their own notepad doc?

I didn't have a problem with C'ing and P'ing from MS Word!

I think it depends on which version of word you copy and paste from. I know I get all kinds of font data added and it totally messes up the documents.

I have my text file letters in the order I'm most likely to need them.....

Prove it letter
Statute barred letter
CCA request letter
Harassment by phone/no home visits letter
Failure to comply with CCA request letter
Formal complaint (no cca continuing to send demands for payment) letter
Complaint letters for TS, FOS, OFT

After that I have relevent bits of the CCA 1974 and the Unfair trading regs 2008, Data Protection Act, and the phone number and menu for the local takeaway.

At the moment I'm sorting out court defence documents just in case Frederickson International get Bryan Carter out of his sewer to hassle me.

It always pays to stay one step ahead of them. 2 weeks soon pass when you need to get a good defence together.
