Default Snack lunch

I've just had one of my favourite quck snack lunches:

toast a couple of pieces of bread on one side under the grill, spread the other side with tomato puree, sprinkle oregano and put on sliced cheese, put back under the grill until cheese melts - yummy.

What do other CAGgers do for a quick bite?

Parma Ham (or Jamon Serrano), a few olives, butter, couple of chunks of nice mature cheddar, with good bread if I am being bad. Perfect at all times, but especially a lovely day like today.

I am afraid your snack would make me sick -literally-.

Other ideas: Feta cheese, tomatoes, peppers, artichokes hearts, all mixed together with basil or lemon flavoured olive oil on top. Lidl sells peppers and artichokes hearts and other stuff in oil (loosely coming under the term antipasto) in jars, reasonably priced and lasts for ever in the fridge.

And while we're on the subject of snacky/salady stuff, I recommend onion crispies to anyone. Less strong than onions, so less likely to keep you company all day, and crispy so you get that crouton feeling, yum-yum.

Damn you, Steven, now I'm hungry.

Onion crispies rock. Olives do not....

Talking of croutons, they are top stirred into a bowl of mackeral fillets in a tomato sauce. Mackeral in tomato on fried bread is also great, just not for the old ticker.

Mmmmm.
